Ages of Tevintar, Chantry, the Dalish, and the Eladrin
Centuries ago the Dalish Elvs were the only race in all of Ferelden. They ruled undisputed and uncontested witch left them with little desire for war and combat. They spent thousands of years cultivating and maintaining the forest in which granted them immortality, magic , and shelter from the chaotic world. Through the decades, peace was known to the Dalish, until a strange creature known as man entered the Dalish lands. The Dalish welcomed them and taught them about their rich culture and advanced magic, and the secrets of immortality. All was well for some years, but man unlike the Dalish were easily corrupted by means of power. Tevintar was one of the Elvish students whom studied under the Archonic magi. As the years progressed the elvish society grew divided between those that believed in teaching the humans and those that saw them as a threat to their society. Tivintar sped this rift along as he founded his own schooling of the elvish magic in human establishments spilling many secrets. This upset the elves that called themselves the “Eladrin” or high elvs to the point of a civil war. The Eladrin being victorious in the cinvil unrest kept the ancient city of Nelderan while the Dalish were forced to relocate to the outer villages and towns. As time progressed Humans and the Dalish mated with one another in the border towns racial tensions arose. The Humans felt insuperior to the Dalish physical and mental superiority and began to fear them after some time. The Human response was the establishment of the Chantry, whom’soul goal was to unite the peoples under one belief. This caused friction with Dalish leaders as the Dalish believed in many begins of divine powers from the fey and would not accept this religion. The Chantry eventually launched a Exalted March against the Dalish, destroying all that they were, towns, history, records, mages, everything but a handle full of survivors that banded into wandering tribes. Some say that Tevintar influenced the Chantry’s rash solution so that he could steal any hidden magics from the Dalish Elvs, as he and his Imperium were charged with destroying the Dalish culture, which included their studies of magic.
